1. The start of the movie we see the production companies logo. We later see that its used in the film. 

2. The comdy side of the film is then used when Dylan spills coffee on himslef and asks his staff for some trousers, but dosnt take them because he goes comando. This hints that this character can bring the comedy as he is clumsy.

3. We are then introduced to a female character who the audience thinks will be his girlfriend as the converation they are having flows.

4. We are then hit by the bombshell that these two characters are actually who they are in the ralentioship with.

5. As we are introduced more to the protagonists partners we soon see that they are not alike. Comedy is used through this too.

6. Both protagonists are then dumped. The two most common phrases are used- "I think we should take a break." and "Its not you, its me." Its also then ended on the classic- "We should still be friends."

7. After the break up, the main characters meet their friends. Jamie (Mila Kunis) curses true love, blaming Katherine Heigl- basically saying love stories are a myth but are exagerated in romantic films. We also find out that they just want a relationship for casual sex, with no strings attached- a perfect match for eachother!

8. Throughout the opening sequance, each title presented was part of the mise-en-scene, for example as a poster on a tree.

During the film that plays, the storyline is set to us through some enigmas given to us. What we find out is that Dylan and Jamie are hopeless in love and are both emotionally unattached, therefore are dumped by their most recent partners. This then leads them both to not really want an emotional relationship, but  just a sexual one- leading the audience knowing, they must get together for just casual sex in the beginning, but then fall in love in the end.

MUSIC:

Music used in FWB is quite modern. The opening song is 'Run Away Baby' by Bruno Mars.

The song plays until 1:46 when the couples meet. The song could foreshadow whats happening (them being dumped) to prevent them being hurt.

Fitz And The Tantrums

This song starts to play when the couples are breaking up, the opening line in the song goes "I don't believe in the power of love." Quite coincidental after whats just happened.

Also, Dylan was supposed to go and see John Mayer in concert with his girlfriend. John Mayers music mainly appeals to women as his songs are about love and breakups.
